Learning Log entry one: When working in a specific community, mainly human services,
it is critical to understand the needs and desires in which we serve. Engaging within the
community offers access to resources and facilitates those desires. Human services
providers are influential and allow for more critical education and help with virtual
demands, particularly since covid. Human services professionals can engage technology
competency that is most relevant to safety and awareness. I hope to polish my portfolio
through this class as I will work freelance and through life coaching community-building
projects. The professional skill I am actively developing has improved my knowledge,
thought process, and critical thinking skills. In human services, it is crucial as I am
advocating for trauma-informed care and education on suicide and prevention. We live in
a technology age, and as some service restrictions transition due to covid, we have a
greater demand and access to serve our community where restrictions stifled us in the past.
My focus while constructing my portfolio will focus on dilemmas and certification, the
accumulation of my written and PowerPoint presentations, and data infrastructure. I am
looking forward to collaborating on my blog platform and displaying my evaluations and
performance appraisals. I believe the online and new technology will provide a place to
connect and facilitate on a broader spectrum.
Learning Log entry two:
I am stepping out of my comfort zone and answering these questions differently. Because
it is relevant to this week's information and excellent practice for my portfolio, I hope you
find this helpful to this week's experiences. Thank you,
My current goal does not consist of any clinical licensing. Developing my portfolio will
create a balance between my Post Traumatic Recovery from Complex PTSD, psychological
resiliency, and trauma Informed Care (TIC) training and my academic accomplishments,
including going forth.TIC is still a relatively new, dynamic, and developing therapeutic
intervention concept in many ways. When I began my recovery, less than 100 therapists in
Arizona knew how to facilitate EMRD, 2013. Last I checked, there were over 100,000
worldwide. The focus on career opportunities will be advocating, providing private life
coaching, psychological resilience training, Trauma-Informed care training, and my favorite
peer support development. This final semester, my public speaking and communication
skills have been my focus, and I hope to include some speeches in my online portfolio.
My ethical, responsible, and values in my purpose will require me to keep up with all the
new research and developments in the field of trauma-informed care and therapeutic
interventions. My portfolio will be unique in that my focus will be academic
accomplishments and writing samples, community outreach and awareness projects,
recent speeches given, and blog posts. My portfolio will include detailed information on
my target of practice.
My experiences with Arizona Trauma Institute Certifications are excellent. I have waited a
long time to see what worked for me, professionally and as an active outreach seeker in
my community. I have been privileged to take courses at Arizona Trauma Institute for
the past three years- including some College professors, including(online) Dr.Gentry,
Dr. Aubrey, Dr. Cuoco, and Dr. Wilson. My current mentor is the
Mental Health Club/Behavioral Health peer support advisor Dr.Wilson is right here on the
Glendale Community College campus. Dr. Aubrey who is head of the Behavioral Health
Science Program designed the psychological resiliency Professional Training at Arizona
Trauma Institute and Current Behavioral Health programs in Maricopa Community Colleges
and it's the first of its kind. It is the best information for anyone wanting to work with the
public or who is interested in building more Passion and purpose while reducing secondary
traumatic experiences. The classes are beneficial in that they focus on bottom-up
regulation skills and present psychological and physiological symptoms that we can
recognize in ourselves and others at the moment it happens. It’s in understanding what’s
happening in the current related to our personal experiences. Excellent certifications to
add to any Behavioral Science Degree, and you come out of these certifications more
confident as an individual and professional. They did not pay me to say that, haha.
My current titles and certifications in Trauma-Informed Care and behavioral health consist
of:
Mental First Aid for Youth
Mental First Aid for Adults
Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST)
CPI
Certified Trauma Support Specialist (CTSS)
Certified Psychological Resiliency Professional (C-PERP)
Fingerprint Clearance
Advanced Certified Behavioral Health Technician
Associates in Behavioral Science
Outreach and nonprofit community/intercity/Rehabilitation/Job Coach Navigation – 90
certified internship Hours Peer Support Navigator/Mental Health Club- Secretary/Vise
President at Maricopa Glendale Community College. I am currently trying to get used to
saying my certifications for communication and professional reasons, but it is hard because
I feel arrogant. I learned this week, most notably, the value and hard work it took to reach
this point. I can see why it is essential to talk in that professional language. It is so
uncomfortable and intimidating reaching this point, considering I scored a 9/10 on the
ACE and had my traumatic Brain “Experience” begin in 1974- 2021 fully recovered after
a lifetime of flashbacks and panic.
Currently practicing to say:
Rebecca White - Certified Trauma Support Specialist-CTSS, Psychological Resiliency
Professional, Trauma-Informed Care (TIC) Advocate, Suicide Awareness and intervention
-C-ASIST, Certified Advanced Behavioral Technician, currently studying Applied Human
Behavior at NAU- Go Lumberjacks!!
Life Coach Ministry
Have a wonderful day.
Learning Log 5:
I believe I will go with Wix for my professional portfolio. I will be extending my portfolio
for professional use and feel that that would be the best platform for myself after
discussing it with classmates. I am hoping to continue blogging after I finish school, so
I am keeping that in perspective as I create my portfolio. I believe that I will have a better
opportunity to build and create a more dynamic portfolio with Wix. I tried WordPress last
year, and it was a “HOT MESS.” I am wrapping up revamping my resume.
The challenge is going into advocacy and awareness, so my portfolio is a bit more unique
than most professional portfolios. I am hoping that I can maneuver through the
downloading and setup process. Those who showed up to zoom have suggested getting
on the café chats to help each other this week. So I will most likely be popping in for more
direction in the downloading process. Overall I am getting excited to see the finished
project.
